The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation is dedicated to increasing and improving conservation education for youth and adults across the state of Kentucky. This includes exposing the public to Kentucky’s rich hunting and fishing heritage through the Salato Wildlife Education Center and KDFWR’s Conservation Camps.
The James C. Salato Wildlife Education Center opened in October of 1995 on the grounds of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in Frankfort, KY. Its purpose is to educate the public about the importance of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, and the role of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in their responsible management, conservation, and use.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources operates three Conservation Camps across the state of Kentucky: Camp John Currie, Camp Earl Wallace, and Camp Robert Webb. As part of our commitment to outdoors education, the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation grants scholarships to youth in need and funds capital construction projects at each of the camps.
