Rick Hill began painting and carving professionally at age 18. Now, after more than four decades, his work resides in private collections across the country. Since 2000, Rick has also painted meticulous depictions of sporting scenes, wildlife and fish for the cover of Kentucky Afield magazine, the official publication of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. 

Rick began his career with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in 1986. He painted his first cover for Kentucky Afield in 1992. By 1994, he became the department’s full time artist-illustrator.
